The Wonderful Wednesday meal will be a July picnic. Hamburger, hot dogs and brats will be furnished. So bring your favorite picnic side dish. The meal will be on July 9th at 5:15 pm and the program will be shortly thereafter. Come enjoy food, fellowship and learning about Scottish bagpipes.

Prior to this, Dr. Campbell served for 15 years as a high school band director in his native NJ where his band received numerous awards and recognition. He also served for several years as Head Ice Hockey Coach at Whippany Park High School where he was band director.
Dr. Campbell presently serves as Music Director Presbyterian (USA) Church in Blairsville, GA. He received the Doctor of Arts degree in conducting and wind literature from Ball State University in Indiana (1984), the Master of Arts degree in conducting from Trenton State College in New Jersey (1973) and the Bachelor of Science degree in music education from Lebanon Valley College in Pennsylvania (1969). Dr. Campbell maintains an active schedule performing Scottish bagpipes for weddings, parties, church services and funerals. He is also an avid antique enthusiast, a gourmet cook and loves to play golf.

The Irish gave the bagpipes to the Scots as a joke, but the Scots haven’t gotten the joke yet.
Dr. Michael Campbell has spent 38 years as a music educator and professional musician. He has taught beginning band, graduate level music education courses and every level in between. He came to Murphy in 1992 as the band director of Murphy High School after serving eight years as Assistant Professor of Music and Director of Bands at Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah, GA.
While in Savannah, he was very active in the professional music scene. He served as an On-Call saxophonist with the Savannah Symphony Orchestra, was a member of the aclaimed Savannah Jazz Orchestra and played for many professional acts touring the area such as Ringling Brothers, the Ice Capades, The Four Tops, just to mention a few.
Sunday School Classes are in full swing. So invite your friends and join us! The Adult Class is continuing to study the Book of John. Classes begin at 9:45 a.m.
